Organization Structure

3.1. Chilean Universities

The organization of the First Academic Forum Chile - Italy, is led by the Universities of Chile (UCh), Católica (PUC) and Concepción (UdeC).

Giving the Centennial Celebration of UdeC, that will take place in May 2019, the Forum will be hosted in the main campus of the University of Concepción, 500 km south of Santiago

3.2. Italian Institutions

Seeking to generate institutional counterparts, the three Chilean universities have invited five Italian universities to be the institutional counterparts of this initiative, according to their degree of participation in previous international cooperation entities, such as the REUCHI Project, and their active collaboration with Chilean institutions. It should be understood that this invitation is only of an institutional nature; therefore, it does not exclude the participation of Faculty members and researchers from other Italian universities and institutions.

The Universities invited are:

1.            Sapienza-Università di Roma

2.            La Università degli Studi Roma Tre

3.            Alma Mater Studiorum – Universtià di Bologna

4.            Politecnico di Torino

5.            Politecnico di Milano

They are expected to contribute to:

  1. Disseminate and promote the realization of the Forum in its academic units;
  2. Provide the necessary facilities for the participation of its Faculty members; and
  3. Consider their institutional representation during the development of the Forum through the presence of its authorities.

3.3. Embassies

Both Embassies -Chilean in Italy and Italian in Chile- have continuously supported the establishment of scientific relations between our countries, facilitating the visits of numerous delegations, fostering dialogue between counterparts of both countries and promoting substantially the development of this Forum.

3.4. Organizing Committee

The Presidents of the Chilean Universities have assigned the following Organizing Committee to carry out the general coordination of the event and to ensure the correct development of the Forum: Paulina Assmann, Deputy Director of International Relations (UdeC), Eduardo Vera, Director of International Relations (UCh) and María Elena Boissier, Director of Research (PUC).
